Why Two Suitcases Can Make Seoul Lockers Cost More

Seoul subway lockers charge per door and the base price covers four hours. Calculate the real total before splitting two or three bags.

The cheapest number on a Seoul locker sign is not a group price. T-Locker charges per compartment and its base rate covers four hours. Two bags that need two doors start with two charges; two bags that safely share one large door start with one.

Measure before choosing a door

The official large compartment is 50 × 90 × 60 cm (width × depth × height). Wheels, handles and expanded pockets count. Do not force a door or press a bag against the lock.

The calculation that matters

Current rates checked 12 August 2026 are small 50 × 30 × 60 cm at ₩2,200 weekday / ₩3,100 weekend, then ₩500 per extra hour; medium 50 × 45 × 60 cm at ₩3,300 / ₩4,600, then ₩800; large 50 × 90 × 60 cm at ₩4,400 / ₩6,100, then ₩1,000. Treat them as checked-date rates and confirm the live app before paying.

Two medium bags: one door or two

Two medium doors cost ₩6,600 / ₩9,200 for four hours, ₩13,000 / ₩15,600 for eight, and ₩19,400 / ₩22,000 for twelve (weekday / weekend). One large door, only if both bags genuinely fit, costs ₩4,400 / ₩6,100, ₩8,400 / ₩10,100, and ₩12,400 / ₩14,100. At twelve hours, the fit check is worth ₩7,000 on a weekday or ₩7,900 on a weekend.

A July 2026 Sinsa Station walkthrough recorded one 24-inch case in a large compartment for nine weekday hours at ₩9,400: the ₩4,400 base plus five hourly charges. It is a dated example, not a promise about availability or future app behavior.

When consolidation stops working

If each case needs a large door, two cost ₩8,800 / ₩12,200 for four hours, ₩16,800 / ₩20,200 for eight and ₩24,800 / ₩28,200 for twelve. Three large doors for eight hours reach ₩25,200 / ₩30,300. Compare the complete stay, not the smallest figure on the sign.

For three cabin bags, three medium doors are ₩19,500 for eight weekday hours. If two safely share one large door and the third uses one medium, the same period is ₩14,900. The ₩4,600 difference comes from layout, not a discount.

Timing can erase the saving

The current official page lists T-Locker access from 05:00 to 24:00 on weekdays, weekends and holidays, and says storage and retrieval are unavailable outside those hours. Missing retrieval can leave the bag locked until after 05:00. Also confirm in the live app whether charges continue and when the timer begins; the dated walkthrough reported it starting at reservation.

A staffed counter solves a different problem

T-Luggage prices each bag by size, so two bags are not automatically cheaper. For the first four hours, two 23–27-inch bags were listed at ₩12,000 weekday / ₩18,000 weekend; two above 27 inches at ₩18,000 / ₩26,000. The value is staffed acceptance when shape or locker supply is the problem. Verify locations, hours, size judgment and current price.

Decide in this order

  1. Measure the outside of every bag. 2. Check live sizes and opening hours in the app. 3. Calculate base plus every hour after four for every door. 4. Compare a staffed or neighborhood drop point for several bags or a long day. 5. Reserve only when the route and retrieval time are settled.
