Can You Eat Four Noodle Bowls in One Seoul Day?
Use this four-stop Seoul noodle map as a menu, not a challenge: choose one or two bowls, or split the route across two days, with current hours and allergies checked first.

Four noodle specialists sit on one useful line through central Seoul, but eating four full bowls is neither required nor a health goal. Treat the map as four optional checkpoints: choose the one or two that match your appetite, or split them across two days. Stop if you feel full or unwell; do not force food or induce vomiting.
Hours, breaks, last orders, queues, sell-outs, payment methods and one-menu-per-person rules can change. Check each restaurant on the day before building the rest of your itinerary around it.
Build your own route
- 1Myeongdong Kyoja Main Branch
- 2Gaehwa Myeongdong
- 3Woo Lae Oak
- 4Jalppajin Memil Seosunra-gil Branch
- Order on the map: Myeongdong Kyoja Main Branch → Gaehwa Myeongdong → Woo Lae Oak → Jalppajin Memil Seosunra-gil Branch
- Sensible plan: Pick one or two stops; use all four only as optional landmarks or divide them over two days
- Full line: About 3.7 km and 59 minutes of walking between stops on the checked route, before queues or detours
- Timing: The original four-stop outline spans about nine hours, but it is not a target
- Same-day check: Confirm closures, breaks, last order, stock and the final train home in current official listings or a live Korean map app
Tuesday to Friday or Sunday avoids the listed Monday closure at Woo Lae Oak and Saturday closure at Gaehwa, based on the 12 August 2026 snapshot. Holiday schedules and temporary closures can override that pattern.
1. Myeongdong Kyoja — a warm, substantial start
The current main branch moved and consolidated at 129 Toegye-ro in 2026, so an older guide may send you to a previous Myeongdong address. Kalguksu is the richest, hottest bowl on this list and can be a complete meal on its own.
- Snapshot: Daily 10:30–21:00; last order 20:30; kalguksu ₩12,000 (checked 12 Aug 2026)
- Order with room to decide: Start with one regular bowl only if you want it. Do not add mandu simply to follow the route
- Ask before sharing: A second diner may need to order a menu item under the restaurant's current policy
- Ingredient check: The noodles contain wheat; ask about egg, soy, sesame, pork and the chicken-based broth, kimchi seasoning and kitchen cross-contact if relevant
- Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map
The checked walk to Gaehwa is about 543 metres. There is no need to make the next stop immediately: use the area for shopping or finish the route here.
2. Gaehwa — a compact jajangmyeon option
Yuni-jajang combines finely minced meat and onion with a smooth black-bean sauce. It brings a different texture from soup noodles, but it is still a full serving rather than a tasting portion.
- Snapshot: Opens 11:30; last order 20:50; closed Saturday; yuni-jajang ₩7,000 (checked 12 Aug 2026)
- Keep the order flexible: Skip extra-large portions and sides. Ask whether sharing or takeaway is allowed instead of assuming
- Ingredient check: Confirm wheat, soy, egg, sesame or nuts, the meat used in the sauce and possible seafood or other kitchen cross-contact
- Diet labels: Vegetarian, halal and gluten-free preparation are not guaranteed without direct confirmation
- Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map
Woo Lae Oak is roughly 2 km away on the checked walking line. If that distance or another meal does not suit the day, take transit to your next activity instead.
3. Woo Lae Oak — Pyongyang naengmyeon on its own terms
The clear, chilled broth may look light, yet appearance does not predict how filling or salty a bowl will feel to you. Taste it before adding vinegar or mustard, and let this be the day's only noodle stop if that is enough.
- Snapshot: Tue–Sun 11:30–21:00; last order 20:20; closed Monday; Pyongyang naengmyeon ₩18,000 (checked 12 Aug 2026)
- Queue reality: Peak waits vary. A mid-afternoon visit may help, but it is not a reservation or a guarantee
- Ingredient check: Buckwheat noodles can also contain wheat or starch; confirm the blend, beef broth, egg garnish and cross-contact directly
- Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map
The final mapped leg is about 1.2 km. Seosunra-gil can be a pleasant walk even when you skip the fourth meal. Leave time for weather, traffic crossings and the journey back.
4. Jalppajin Memil — buckwheat beside Seosunra-gil
Older listings may call this the Ikseon branch; the checked address is 73 Yulgok-ro 8-gil. Choose the plain version for a direct buckwheat taste or ask about the perilla-oil version, but only order if you still want a meal.
- Snapshot: Mon–Sat 11:00–21:30; Sunday until 21:00; weekday break 15:00–17:00; last order 20:30 (checked 12 Aug 2026)
- Snapshot price: 100% buckwheat makguksu ₩12,000; perilla-oil sprout version ₩13,000
- Do not read 100% as an allergy guarantee: Sauce, stock, garnish and the shared kitchen may introduce wheat, soy, egg, sesame, nuts, anchovy or other seafood; perilla is also a separate ingredient to check
- Ordering: The room is reported as small and QR ordering may be used. Confirm access, payment, sharing and takeaway at the branch

Eat safely and leave room for the city
The four listed base prices total about ₩49,000 at the checked date, but that figure is a comparison, not a recommended order. Drinks, sides, price changes and transport alter the total. Ordering only what you can eat is kinder to both your body and the kitchen.
Ask specifically about wheat, buckwheat, egg, soy, sesame, nuts, beef, pork, chicken, anchovy and other seafood. Kimchi, garnishes, sauces and a shared kitchen can matter as much as the noodle. A dish is not automatically halal, vegetarian or gluten-free because the visible topping looks suitable.
Take care with very hot broth, slippery noodles and large bites, particularly with children. Avoid raw or undercooked egg or meat when that is a concern, and do not use alcohol or intentional dehydration to push through another serving. Severe breathing trouble, swelling, faintness or a rapidly worsening suspected allergic reaction is an emergency: call 119.
Use the map for stop order, then verify live walking directions and the last ride home in Naver Map, KakaoMap or the relevant operator's notice. If a restaurant is closed, sold out or asks for one menu per person, accept the policy and choose another meal.
