Nodeul Island at Night: A Yongsan Art-and-Vinyl Route

See one Leeum exhibition, browse Vinyl & Plastic, then use live transit to Nodeul’s open upper level with 2026 construction and closure limits clear.

This three-stop Yongsan evening works best in one direction: finish one Leeum exhibition before 18:00, browse records nearby, then take live transit to Nodeul Island as daylight fades. Plan 4.5–6 hours. In 2026, the island finish means the open upper cultural complex and lawn; the lower Hangang Park area remains restricted for construction.

Open these stops in Google Maps
  • Route: Leeum Museum of Art → Hyundai Card Vinyl & Plastic → Nodeul Island upper complex
  • Time: About 4.5–6 hours, including one exhibition, record browsing, the transfer and upper-island night views
  • Walking: About 374 m and 5 minutes between the first two stops; a stair-avoiding option is about 468 m. The final leg is transit with short walks, not a 5 km hike
  • Best start: 14:30–15:00 Tuesday–Saturday; by 14:00 Sunday because the record shop closes earlier
  • Best for: One focused exhibition, physical music browsing and a Han River skyline

The map keeps the frozen stop order, but this is a walking-and-bus outing, not a driving itinerary. A live Korean trip planner may show bus 6211 as a one-seat option from the Blue Square area to Nodeul when it is running. Allow 35–50 minutes and recheck departure before leaving the record shop.

Hills, museum rules and the final bus make suitcases a poor fit. If this follows checkout, review when luggage can derail a Korea day and find a nearby place to leave your bags before starting.

1. Leeum Museum of Art — protect the closing-time anchor

Leeum closes before the other stops, so choose one path instead of racing through every gallery. The free permanent Korean-art display works well for a first visit; current special exhibitions use separate prices and discounts.

  • Hours: Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00; ticketing closes 17:30; closed Monday, January 1, Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok Day
  • Price: Permanent Korean-art exhibition free; special-exhibition prices and discounts vary
  • Highlight: Give one collection path 75–100 minutes
  • How to join: Individual reservations open 14 days ahead; on-site tickets may be available, but waits can grow when galleries are busy
  • Stay: 75–100 minutes
  • Photo spot: The circular skylight is an easy architectural subject; follow current rules around artworks
  • Good to know: The approach from Hangangjin Station climbs. Wheelchairs and strollers can be borrowed at the information desk, but the hill itself is not level
  • Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map

Check the official Leeum visit page on the day. Hours, the 17:30 ticket cutoff and 14-day reservation window were rechecked August 12, 2026; exhibition names, prices and photography rules remain date-specific.

2. Hyundai Card Vinyl & Plastic — browse with a daylight deadline

The recommended Naver walk from Leeum is about 374 m and five minutes; the roughly 468 m alternative avoids stairs and follows larger roads. Vinyl & Plastic is an LP and CD store open to Hyundai Card members and nonmembers, separate from the Music Library next door.

  • Hours: Tuesday–Saturday 12:00–21:00; Sunday and public holidays 12:00–18:00; closed Monday and during Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays
  • Price: Free admission; records and merchandise priced individually
  • Highlight: Browse one genre wall, then use the eight-table listening zone only if its queue fits the route
  • How to join: The official guide allows three albums for 30 minutes on weekdays and two albums for 20 minutes on weekends
  • Stay: 45–60 minutes
  • Photo spot: The glass facade identifies the venue; check current rules before interior photos
  • Good to know: The neighboring Music Library has different entry rules; this route uses Vinyl & Plastic

Buy water or a simple snack before the transfer. Nodeul’s resident restaurants, café and convenience store ended operations in April 2026. One food truck is officially scheduled through August 30, 10:00–22:00 outside closure days, but rain and early sellout can still remove that option.

3. Nodeul Island — stay on the open upper level

Use a live transit result from the Blue Square side. When bus 6211 is shown, it can provide a one-seat ride to the Nodeul Island stop; traffic and headways justify the 35–50 minute buffer.

  • Hours: Upper outdoor spaces such as Nodeul Square and the lawn are open 24 hours. Visit Seoul’s current listing gives March–October indoor hours as Tue–Fri 10:00–21:00 and weekends/holidays 10:00–22:00, subject to the current calendar
  • Price: Open public spaces free; ticketed performances and programs set separate prices
  • Highlight: Use the upper lawn or square for the changing sky, bridge and Yeouido lights
  • How to join: Get off at the Nodeul Island stop on Hangang Bridge and follow the signed entrance to the upper complex
  • Stay: 75–120 minutes
  • Photo spot: Remain at upper lawn and bridge-facing viewpoints; never cross construction barriers
  • Good to know: The lower Hangang Park area has been restricted since November 20, 2025. The official August notice closes indoor facilities on August 18 while keeping the upper square and lawn open 24 hours
  • Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map

Read the official lower-area construction notice and latest Nodeul notices before departing. Boundaries, one-off closure days, food-truck operations and event access can change.

Before you go

  • Tuesday–Saturday gives the cleanest overlap. Monday closes Leeum and Vinyl & Plastic; Sunday compresses the shop because it closes at 18:00.
  • Check local sunset, heat, rain and air quality. The upper lawn is exposed, and severe weather outweighs the night view.
  • Save the live transit result before leaving Vinyl & Plastic. Compare another bus or a taxi if 6211 has a long wait; do not walk the full final leg by default.
  • Treat Nodeul as an open-space finish, not a guaranteed dinner or exhibition stop. Indoor programs and temporary food service vary by date.
  • For the return, use the bridge bus stop and current directions. Do not improvise through construction fencing.

Leeum provides the time-limited art, Vinyl & Plastic slows the pace, and Nodeul turns the remaining light into the finish. Exact operating facts and official notices were rechecked August 12, 2026.
