1. Seoul Art Space Mullae — confirm a program before entering

Begin at the arts facility on Gyeongin-ro 88-gil. The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture operates Gallery M30, a box theater and production rooms here. It is a working creation and event venue, not a museum with a permanent display guaranteed at 15:30.

Walk west into the lanes around Dorim-ro 128ga-gil. Seoul's 2026 visitor guide describes this as a street where art and ironworks coexist. The useful view is often a working detail—a hoist, steel stock or old shop sign—beside a mural or studio door, rather than one headline installation.

Weekday afternoon offers the clearest chance to understand the metalworking district while it is active. Visit Seoul also notes that many workshops close on weekends, when decorated shutters become easier to see. A KoreaTravel discussion recommends late afternoon or evening because daytime can feel quiet; treat that as one traveler's timing context, not a promise about crowds or opening hours.

3. Old Mullae — end where the industrial mood continues indoors

Arrive after 18:00. Timber rafters, retained machinery and warm lighting extend the street's industrial texture into dinner, so the final stop feels connected to the walk rather than tacked on.

• Weekday: Better odds of seeing the metalworking district active; stay clear of loading and fabrication work.
• Weekend: More workshops may be closed, making shutter murals visible, but the industrial process is less legible.
• Rain or poor light: Shorten the alley loop. Wet metal, uneven paving, vehicles and blind corners deserve more space than the map suggests.
