Your First KBO Game: Tickets, Cheer Seats, Food and Rain
Start with the home club’s official seller, then choose the correct cheering side. Arrive early for food and wait for an official ruling when rain threatens.
A KBO night can feel like a three-hour singalong with baseball in the middle—but only if the seat matches the experience you want. For a first game, use the home club’s official seller, read that stadium’s current seat map, arrive early and let the official game status—not a weather app—decide a rain cancellation.

1. Book through the home club
Find the game on KBO’s schedule and identify the home team. Then open KBO’s current club-by-club ticket directory. Checked August 12, 2026, Ticketlink covers LG, Hanwha, Samsung, KT and KIA; NOL covers Doosan and Kiwoom; SSG, Lotte and NC use club ticketing. Treat this as a live directory, not a permanent rule. Jamsil is the classic trap: LG and Doosan share a stadium but not a seller. Set up identity, phone and payment requirements before sales open; same-day counters are a fallback, not a weekend plan.
2. The seat is the experience
Never assume first-base side always means home. Choose the named home cheer section for songs, standing and coordinated gestures; the away section for the visiting team; a central/table or some upper area for a calmer view. Use the cheer stage on the current map as the landmark. Neutral clothes are fine. Keep aisles clear, watch for foul balls, avoid blocking sightlines with a phone, and use earplugs or sit away from the stage if sustained noise is tiring.
3. Food needs timing, not a must-eat list
Menus and vendors change by park and date. Fried chicken, tteokbokki, pizza and beer are common patterns, not promises. Collect/scan the ticket, find the gate and seat, then buy food. If one vendor matters, arrive before first pitch; otherwise choose the shorter queue. Outside-food, glass, alcohol, container and bag rules differ by venue, so read the home club’s current entry notice.
4. Rain: wait for an official ruling
A forecast helps you pack; it does not cancel the ticket. Check KBO status, the home club notice, then the original seller order page. Keep the ticket until the seller explains refund or collection. Before play, official cancellation is generally handled through the seller; collected/printed tickets may differ. After play begins, rain does not automatically mean refund—the official no-game/completed-game ruling and seller instruction control. Use a light poncho instead of an umbrella in a packed row. Gocheok is protected from ordinary rain, but its official schedule still wins.
A first-game clock that works
90 minutes: check status and reach the correct club’s gate/box office. 60 minutes: collect/scan, find the section and locate the cheer stage. 45 minutes: buy food and water; take the shorter queue. 15 minutes: settle, watch warmups, learn one repeated clap. The right cheering block turns the game into the experience people describe; the wrong side leaves you watching it across the field.
