A Month in Korea: Book the Bed, Storage and Move Separately
A temporary room, monthly storage and final delivery solve different problems. Confirm access, payment, address paperwork and every handoff.

A month in Korea is easier to manage when you stop looking for one provider to solve every gap. The room, the storage space and the final move are three bookings with different operators, acceptance rules and liability. A hotel that holds two suitcases is not automatically a warehouse; a storage unit does not collect them; a courier does not guarantee that reception will accept delivery.
The operating details below were rechecked on 19 August 2026. Confirm every address, room, unit, price, cutoff and handoff in writing before payment.
Build the month as three contracts
Book the bed for the dates you need, storage for the volume and access pattern you need, and transport for each physical move. Put the arrival and departure gaps on the calendar first:
- Arrival time versus the room’s actual check-in time.
- Checkout from the temporary room versus access to the next address.
- First-day and last-day luggage holding, with bag count and size.
- Collection and delivery appointments between each location.
- A fallback if a room, unit or driver is not available.
A headline such as “long stay,” “residence” or “monthly room” describes marketing, not one nationwide legal category or a promise that the address works for immigration paperwork. Hotel, residence, serviced room, dorm and short-term rental terms vary by property and local facts.
Get the exact room in writing
Before paying, ask for the legal or operating name of the property, full address, exact room type, occupancy, check-in and checkout times, and who will meet you. Confirm cancellation, extension, deposit amount, refund timing and possible deductions.
A monthly price may exclude management fees, electricity, gas, water, internet, cleaning, linen or final cleaning. Ask for the full cost and billing method. Also confirm laundry, elevator, stairs, kitchen, refrigerator, fire exits, parcel capacity and whether the room shown is the room booked.
Mail and parcel reception are separate questions. A property may receive shopping deliveries but refuse registered mail, large boxes or parcels after checkout. Ask how long items are held, whose name must be on the label and what happens after a missed handoff. University-specific guidance, such as Konkuk’s housing page, is useful only for that institution and residence.
Verify the operator before transferring money
Do not send a deposit to a person who appears only in a social-media message. Keep the listing, property identity, contract, cancellation terms, recipient bank or platform name and receipt together. Confirm changes inside the booking platform or through a published business contact, not a new account that approaches you by direct message.
Never post your passport page, full address and travel dates publicly. Share only the information needed for booking through the provider’s secure channel. If a private lease is involved in Seoul, the city’s Global Real Estate Agency program can help international residents understand deposits and key terms; it does not certify every short stay or replace independent review.
Storage is a different purchase
Choose storage by duration, access frequency, item limits, staffed hours and insurance terms. A counter suited to four hours is not automatically suitable for four weeks. Self-storage allows repeat access only within the operator’s access rules, and monthly availability may be tied to one station or unit size.
Seoul’s official subway storage guide separates T-Locker for hourly lockers, T-Luggage for staffed storage and same-day delivery, and T-Storage for monthly units. Similar names do not merge the contracts.

As checked, T-Storage displayed S units at ₩49,000 for one month, M at ₩79,000 and L at ₩131,000, with its published dimensions. These are a dated Seoul product snapshot, not a national price or an availability promise. Booking, payment and access use the Korean-only T-Locker app; test account creation, payment, the station route, gates and elevator before depending on the unit.
T-Storage access follows Seoul Metro operating hours, not 24-hour access, and support is published in Korean. Save the unit number, confirmation and support contact outside the stored bags. Ask what happens after an app, payment or door failure and whether an extension is automatic, possible or chargeable.
Book every move as its own handoff
Storage does not include transport unless the product says so. Reserve arrival-day storage, the move into the monthly room and the last-day transfer separately. For every leg, provide:
- Exact pickup and delivery addresses, including building and floor.
- Sender and recipient names and reachable local phone numbers.
- Bag count, external size, weight and packaging.
- Earliest handover, cutoff, delivery window and operating day.
- Hotel or residence permission to release and receive the bags.
- Rules for unattended delivery, delay, failed pickup, return and storage.
Do not schedule collection until the next property confirms the actual room, access time and key handoff. A booking confirmation from a courier does not compel a hotel desk to hold luggage. The hotel controls its reception, the storage operator controls its unit, and the carrier controls only the transport it accepts. Ask where responsibility begins and ends.
Photograph each bag, label, closure and contents before release. Keep the acceptance receipt and tracking number. Read the coverage cap, exclusions, claim deadline and evidence requirement; storage cover is not automatically delivery insurance, and compensation may exclude delay, handles, wheels or undeclared valuables.
Keep an arrival kit outside every booking
Carry your passport, Residence Card, cash, payment cards, keys, essential medicine, prescriptions, jewelry and irreplaceable originals. Do not put them in hotel storage, a monthly unit or an unaccompanied bag.
T-Storage’s published prohibited list includes cash and valuables, explosives and flammables, weapons, animals and plants, and medicines. Other providers have different rules. Laptops, cameras, power banks and loose lithium batteries need explicit written acceptance; “electronics allowed” does not automatically include every battery. Liquids, food, refrigerated items, fragile objects and hazardous goods also require product-specific checks.
Keep several days of clothes, toiletries, charging equipment and anything needed for check-in in a day bag. If luggage is delayed, the room should still be usable.
Do not let a room label decide immigration duties
The official Study in Korea residence guide says a registered foreign resident who changes residence generally reports the change within 15 days and provides residence evidence. Whether a particular one-month stay is a reportable residence, and which document is accepted, depends on status and facts.
A host’s claim that a room is “visa friendly” or provides “address registration” is not an official decision. Ask the school or responsible immigration office, or contact the Ministry of Justice Immigration Contact Center 1345, before relying on a receipt or booking confirmation. This is administrative planning, not legal advice.
A clean one-month sequence
- Before arrival: verify the exact first room, full price, access and first luggage plan.
- Arrival day: keep documents and essentials with you; obtain a storage receipt.
- Before the monthly move: confirm room and key, then book transport.
- During the stay: keep unit access, extension dates and support details outside storage.
- Before checkout: confirm the next recipient before ordering the final collection.
- After every handoff: save photos, receipt, tracking and written confirmation of receipt.
