Jeonju Hanok Village Heat Escape: An Indoor Craft Route
Use the hottest three hours for fans, Jeonju crafts and traditional books. The three indoor stops are close, but reservations, live hours and heat safety still matter.

Yes: the hottest part of a Hanok Village day can be spent mostly indoors. This route links the Fan Culture Center, Crafts Exhibition Hall and Wanpanbon Culture Center in about 981 metres of walking. It reduces sun exposure; it does not make a heat warning harmless.
What this route does—and does not do
Allow 90 minutes–2 hours for browsing or 3–4 hours with one activity. A 15:00 start can move the longer final walk later, but live pedestrian routing and your own heat tolerance control. All three have historically closed Monday; verify the exact date before building the day around them.

1. Fan Culture Center
Begin with Jeonju's fan tradition. Browse before choosing a decorating activity: the exact fan, price, language, reservation status and staffing can change. Current listings checked 12 August 2026 showed 10:00–20:00 and fan-painting price ranges, but confirmation—not this article—secures a session.
2. Crafts Exhibition Hall
This is the flexible middle stop: connected hanok buildings, Jeonju-made crafts and optional short programs. A current page listed prepared round-fan colouring at ₩8,000 for about 30 minutes. That is colouring a prepared fan, not building its bamboo frame. Ask 063-281-1616 about same-day availability.
3. Wanpanbon Culture Center
Finish with Jeonju's woodblock printing and stitched-book history. Posted pages list old-book and hanji wall-hanging programs at ₩20,000, but the downloadable application is group-oriented. Do not assume an individual walk-in place; call 063-231-2212/2213. Summer hours through 31 October 2026 were checked, but seasonal notices can change.
Heat-day rules
On a heat-warning day, hydrate indoors, pause before the longer final leg and shorten the route if symptoms begin. Indoor venues are not a substitute for medical heat guidance. Activity availability can disappear because of group bookings or staffing, so reserve when making an object is the main purpose.
