Hapjeong and Sangsu Evening: Bookshops to Live Music

Plan backward from a confirmed Jebi Dabang show, then walk B Platform and Thanks Books before dinner and a small live set.

Plan this evening backward from an announced Jebi Dabang performance. Count roughly 2 hours 40 minutes before the posted start for B Platform, Thanks Books, the two walks, and a simple dinner; arrive at Jebi 20–30 minutes early if seating matters. Without a confirmed show, this is still a pleasant bookshop walk, but it is not the promised bookshops-to-live-music night.

The ordered route is only about 1.15 km on foot: B Platform → Thanks Books → Jebi Dabang. The shops’ hours and the performance notice—not a fixed 17:20 start—decide whether it works.

  • Route: B Platform → Thanks Books → dinner → Jebi Dabang
  • Walking: About 1.15 km · 19 minutes across the two mapped legs
  • Time before the show: About 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 45–60 minute dinner
  • Start point: B Platform, about 2 hours 40 minutes before the announced Jebi start
  • Best day: Tuesday–Sunday, on a date with a Jebi performance you have confirmed that day
  • Best for: Artist books, independent Korean publishing, and a small close-range set rather than a Hongdae club night

Naver Map measured the two walking legs at 424 m and 723 m on August 9, 2026. Google Maps preserves the ordered stops in the route component, but live pedestrian routing in Korea should be checked in Naver Map using the exact links below. Distances do not include detours for dinner.

Before choosing the date

Open Jebi’s current listing first. The venue’s official page says performances and events are held on weekends with voluntary audience fundraising, but the artist, date, start time, reservation, and payment conditions belong to each event notice. Its embedded schedule was not displaying a readable lineup when rechecked August 12, so also check the official Instagram on the day. “Usually weekends” is not a reservation.

Then check that B Platform is open. Monday cannot support the full route under the August 9 Naver Place hours snapshot. Holiday closures, exhibitions, private events, and temporary changes can override normal hours at all three stops.

1. B Platform — start with the most specialized shelves

B Platform combines a third-floor bookshop, gallery, and workshop space focused on picture books, artist books, bookbinding, and small exhibitions. It is the stop that changes most with the current display, so use the official B Platform blog to see what is actually on before expecting a permanent exhibition.

  • Hours snapshot: Tue–Sun 13:00–20:00; closed Monday (Naver Place, captured August 9, 2026)
  • Allow: 45–60 minutes
  • Look for: Artist books, unusual bindings and book structures, picture books, and the current gallery display
  • Finding it: 3F, 22 Dongmak-ro 2-gil. Look for the building number; do not wait for a large ground-floor bookstore sign.
  • Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map

Handle display copies slowly and follow any no-touch or photography notice. A rotating artist-book display is not the same as permission to photograph every page.

2. Thanks Books — use the shop’s edit, not a foreign-title checklist

The first mapped leg was 424 m, about seven minutes, in the August 9 Naver snapshot. Thanks Books is broader and brighter than B Platform, with Korean books, independent publications, design-led titles, stationery, and short staff recommendations.

  • Hours snapshot: Daily 12:00–21:00 (Naver Place, captured August 9, 2026)
  • Allow: 45–60 minutes
  • Best approach: Browse the displays and recommendation cards; do not expect a long list of English-language titles to be in stock.
  • Photography: Follow the current posted rule and ask before photographing covers, interiors, or pages.
  • Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map

If you want a specific title, show its Korean title, author, and ISBN when possible. Availability and displayed recommendations change; the images describe the shop, not current stock.

Dinner — keep the handoff short

Allow 45–60 minutes between Thanks Books and Jebi. Choose a restaurant that does not send you far from the eastbound route toward Sangsu, and leave enough time for payment and the final 723 m walk.

Jebi serves drinks and snacks, but do not build the night on the assumption that its current menu will replace a full dinner. If the announced set begins early, eat before B Platform or shorten one bookshop rather than arriving during the performance.

3. Jebi Dabang — the notice decides the night

Jebi Dabang is a café by day and uses the “Drunk Jebi” identity at night. Its official page describes a compact cultural space for performances and exhibitions, with weekend events supported by voluntary audience fundraising. Treat that as the venue model, not a guarantee that every night has a free walk-in show.

  • Hours snapshot: Daily 11:30–02:00 (Naver Place, captured August 9, 2026)
  • Menu snapshot: Americano ₩5,000, tea ₩7,000, San Miguel ₩8,000, garaetteok ₩9,000, Guinness ₩15,000; confirm current menu and minimum-order rules on arrival
  • Performance check: Official gig page · official Instagram
  • Allow: About 90 minutes or the full announced set
  • Arrival: Aim for 20–30 minutes before the posted start if a seat matters, while following any reservation or queue instruction in that event’s notice
  • Maps: Google Maps · Naver Map

The attraction is proximity: a small room, close sightline, and an artist chosen by the night’s program. Check whether the notice states a donation, fixed ticket, advance reservation, door payment, age rule, or special-event condition. Do not replace those terms with an old venue roundup.

Timing examples

If the announced performance starts at 21:00, a workable sequence is:

  • 18:20–19:10 B Platform
  • 19:17–20:02 Thanks Books
  • 20:02–20:45 quick dinner
  • 20:45–20:57 walk to Jebi
  • 20:57 onward check-in, drink order, and the announced set

If it starts at 20:00, begin around 17:20 or eat before the route. These are planning examples, not venue schedules. Use the actual notice and shorten browsing before cutting the arrival buffer.

Before you go

  • Confirm a specific Jebi event, not only the venue’s normal hours.
  • Avoid Monday for the full route because the B Platform hours snapshot shows it closed.
  • Save the Korean names 비플랫폼, 땡스북스, and 제비다방 in Naver Map.
  • Carry a payment method suitable for the night’s stated ticket/donation and the venue order; do not assume one universal rule.
  • If no show is listed, keep the bookshops and replace Jebi with dinner or another currently confirmed event. Do not travel across Seoul for an unverified performance.

Hours, menu examples, and walking measurements were captured August 9, 2026; the official Jebi venue page was rechecked August 12. Reconfirm holiday closures, the exact performance notice, booking/payment terms, and live walking route on the day.
